• Water pressure cleaning of a slab on the ground of an underground parking lot of a 65,000 sq.ft. condo tower
• Application of a penetrating silane n surface treatment designed for level underground parking slabs. It is applied to the surface of the existing concrete and then penetrates into the pores of the concrete. This treatment offers several significant advantages for underground parking slabs:
• Waterproofing: By penetrating the pores of the concrete, the silane forms a hydrophobic barrier that reduces the penetration of water and other liquids into the concrete. This helps prevent rebar corrosion and spalling problems caused by moisture.
• Chemical Protection: The treatment creates protection against chemicals such as de-icing salts and vehicle oils. This helps to maintain the integrity of the concrete and prevent degradation caused by these corrosive substances.
• Increased Durability: By strengthening the concrete surface, silane improves resistance to abrasions and wear from vehicular traffic and frequent parking lot activity.
• Resistance to freeze/thaw cycles: The treatment reduces the penetration of water into the concrete, which reduces the risk of cracking due to freeze-thaw cycles. It thus preserves the structure and appearance of the slab.
• Ease of maintenance: The treated surface is easier to clean and maintain, as it is more resistant to stains, dirt and spills.
• In sum, silane is a penetrating surface treatment that provides significant protection and enhancement to level underground parking slabs. By forming a protective barrier and strengthening the surface of the concrete, it helps extend the useful life of the slab and reduce the need for long-term maintenance.
